Privacy Policy — Author Sales

1. Who we are

Author Sales ("the App", "we", "us") is an independent, unofficial mobile app that helps Envato marketplace authors track their sales, earnings, and statements. Author Sales is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Envato Pty Ltd.

2. Information we collect

a) Envato account information (via OAuth)

To use the App's core features, you sign in using Envato's official OAuth login ("Sign in with Envato"). The App itself never sees or stores your Envato password.

Through this connection, we collect and process:

• Your Envato username and public author profile information
• Your sales, earnings, statements, and portfolio item data, as made available by the Envato API
• An OAuth access token and refresh token, used to make authenticated requests to the Envato API on your behalf

b) Data stored on our server (backend/proxy)

Author Sales uses a backend service (a server-side proxy) to securely handle the Envato OAuth exchange. This backend:

• Never receives or stores your Envato password
• Stores your OAuth access token and refresh token, associated with a randomly generated session identifier
• Uses these tokens solely to fetch your sales/earnings data from the Envato API and return it to the App
• Does not sell, rent, or share your tokens or sales data with any third party for their own purposes

The App itself only ever holds an opaque session identifier — not your real Envato token.

c) Data stored locally on your device

Cached earnings, statements, portfolio data, and app preferences (such as Dark Mode) are stored locally on your device to improve performance and allow offline viewing. This local data is removed when you clear app data or uninstall the App.

d) Advertising data (via Google AdMob)

The App displays ads and offers a "watch an ad to unlock" feature, powered by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and process:

• Device identifiers (such as the Advertising ID)
• IP address and approximate location
• Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, ad performance)

This data is collected and processed by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy and, where applicable, the AdMob data disclosure. We do not control how Google processes this data beyond configuring the AdMob SDK.

3. How we use your information

We do not use your Envato sales data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond displaying it back to you within the App.

4. Data sharing

• Envato — the source of your sales/earnings data via its official API.
• Our backend/proxy server — processes and temporarily stores your OAuth tokens to communicate with Envato on your behalf.
• Google AdMob — receives advertising-related device data to serve and measure ads, per Google's own privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal or financial data to any third party.

5. Data security

All communication between the App, our backend, and the Envato API is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Your Envato password is never transmitted to or stored by us at any point — authentication happens entirely on Envato's own login page.

6. Data retention & deletion

Your OAuth tokens are retained on our server only for as long as your account remains connected to the App. You can delete your data at any time:

• Revoke Author Sales' access from your Envato account settings (Connected Apps), which invalidates and removes the stored tokens.
• Clear app data or uninstall the App to remove all locally cached data.

7. Children's privacy

Author Sales is intended for Envato marketplace authors and is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
